| Riitta's work is a unique reflection of her Finnish
background and her love of the beautiful landscape of her adopted home. The rocky coastlines, sandy beaches, rugged hills and fast changing light of Pembrokeshire provide an unlimited source of inspiration for colours, textures and forms. The white found in many of Riitta's pieces is also significant as it represents blankets of winter snow and ice, one of the things she misses most from her home country. Riitta is also strongly influenced by light and the effects of shadows, often resulting in blurred or semi-abstract images. |
